Racquet Network approaches squash lessons for children aged 5 to 7 in a different way. Since most children at this age lack sufficient depth perception, coordination and motor skills to play squash matches, our instructors work with children to build an athletic foundation that will help them succeed at squash once they are developmentally ready for it.
Using specially designed racquets and balls, our instructors use a variety of activities and games to help children improve their depth perception, increase their coordination and develop essential motor skills. The emphasis during our squash lessons is on having fun and increasing confidence. Call, email or visit our website for more information about squash lessons in Calgary.
CANADIAN SPORT FOR LIFE
Parents please note: Our approach to teaching this age group is recommended by Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Program. The skills learned in this program are transferable to many other sports and activities and will contribute to each child’s overall athletic development.
SMALL CLASS SIZES
Since large group lessons tend to be noisy and distracting for children at this age, our programs for 5-7-year-olds are strictly limited to ensure a maximum student-to-instructor ratio of 4-to-1. Classes are also limited to a maximum of 60 minutes and are structured around two five-minute water breaks during which discussions occur on important subjects such as sportsmanship, healthy habits and good squash manners. Call, email or visit our website for more information about squash lessons in Calgary.
INCLUDED WITH SQUASH LESSONS AND SQUASH CAMPS
Racquet Network provides all necessary equipment for children’s squash lessons and tennis camps. Children are measured and given an appropriately-sized racquet at the very first squash lesson or squash camp. They are also given balls and any other special tools required to help them learn. These items are included in the registration fees. There are no extra charges for these items.
NOT INCLUDED WITH SQUASH LESSONS OR SQUASH CAMPS
For liability reasons, Racquet Network is not allowed to provide shoes, food or beverages to children in squash lessons or squash camps. Parents are advised to ensure that their children are appropriately dressed and wearing athletic footwear.
